Aide to Mayor Dan Gelber, City of Miami Beach
Adrian Chamberlin was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where he learned the meaning of “dale” and to love Dominican food before he could walk. He currently serves as the aide to Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber. As Mayor Gelber's aide, Adrian advises the mayor on policy, serves as his liaison to constituents, and executes the mayor's communications strategies, among other duties. Previously, Adrian served as Mayor Gelber's campaign manager in 2017, when the mayor won a contested election against an incumbent city commissioner with over 80% support. He is a product of the Florida State University twice over; first in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and International Affairs, then in 2015 with a Master of Science from Florida State's Applied American Politics and Policy (MAAPP) program. After graduating, Adrian worked with the League of Women Voters of Florida (LWVF), where he managed a league initiative to educate Floridians on the merits of medicaid expansion. Adrian is a former newspaper writer and Boy Scout, and a perennial bookworm. He enjoys volunteering at local community events such as food distributions for families in need, and considers himself an aspiring Renaissance Man, with an eclectic set of hobbies. His favorite sport is basketball, and he still believes the Heat are the rightful winners of the 2019/2020 NBA Championship.
