Alexsaundra Preston
Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications, University of Houston
Alexsaundra Preston serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications with Student Housing and Residential Life at the University of Houston. In her role, Alexsaundra develops and implements communication plans for Student Housing and Residential Life, which supports over 8,000 residents. She also provides creative direction to her team as they utilize print and digital media to recruit and retain residents who choose to live on campus. Previously, Alexsaundra served as the Communications Manager for the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services at the University of Houston, supporting the division's communications efforts and serving on various campus-wide committees. Alexsaundra is an advocate for student development, and she is passionate about providing opportunities for students to learn about effective marketing strategies while working alongside professional staff. She has experience leading student and professional-staff teams in higher education at both California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and California State University, San Bernardino. Alexsaundra received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and received her Master in Business Administration from Houston Baptist University. A native of Las Vegas, NV, Alexsaundra moved to Houston, TX after living and working in southern California since 2010. In her spare time, Alexsaundra volunteers at the Houston Museum of African American Culture and reads books written by black authors of every genre. She enjoys traveling solo around the country and abroad and spending time with her dogs, Eva and Bud.
