Alyssa Greene is a Political Organizer for Senator Tina Smith’s campaign, as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Minnesota. She has provided mental health care in outpatient, day programming, residential, and inpatient settings. Majority of Alyssa’s work has been in treating eating disorders with co-occurring substance use disorders and anxiety disorders. Alyssa also freelance writes for mental health websites and blogs about a variety of mental health, wellness, and therapy topics.
Alyssa has been a volunteer leader with Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund where she recruited and trained volunteers, organized and hosted events, and led canvasses and phone banks with other amazing women. Recently, she has been appointed to the state of Minnesota’s Advisory Committee for the Ombudsman’s Office for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, and Women Winning’s LAUNCH Committee which hosts events and works to elect pro-choice women up and down the ballot.
Through all avenues of Alyssa’s work, she conveys a strong passion for access to reproductive rights and reproductive justice, accessibility to effective and culturally competent mental health resources, and fighting diet culture. She also is an advocate for justice for sexual assault victims/survivors, as well as sexual assault prevention. Outside of work and activism, Alyssa loves traveling, reading non-fiction, and wine tasting. She can’t wait to join the NLC Board; the next cohort deserves to have just as amazing of experience as she had with the 2020 cohort!
