Andrea D. Ortiz was born and raised in Texas, but has called Florida home for the last eight years. Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. She also graduated with honors from Barry University School of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2016. Andrea started her legal career practicing corporate insurance defense before starting her own estate-planning firm – A.D.O. Law Florida. She’s a board member for Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida and provides pro bono service through estate planning clinics. Within her first year of private practice, Andrea was awarded the Timothy A. Moran Champion of Justice award for her pro bono work and was recognized twice by the Supreme Court of Florida for providing over 100 hours of pro bono legal services. Andrea is also on the board for the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida. In 2019 she established the HBACF Mentorship Program, which offers career guidance and opportunities to law students and new lawyers. Andrea also owns and operates Brighton Tutors – A Boutique Academic & Test Preparation Company. Brighton Tutors provides rising high school students with the tools to realize their college dreams and mentors students in and out of the classroom. In her free time, Andrea loves to travel, bird watch, cook, and bake! Most of all, she loves spending time with the love-of-her-life and their two goofy dogs.
