Cassidy Whitaker is an Account Manager with Statecraft Digital, a progressive political digital communications firm, where she works with candidates and campaigns for political office on their strategic digital communications strategy and writes content for their digital ads. She has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and journalism from Saint Leo University, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the university’s student newspaper. After graduating in the spring of 2018, she worked on a State House campaign in Pasco County for the summer, and then joined Hillsborough County Commission Vice Chair Kimberly Overman’s campaign after the primary election that fall. Following Commissioner Overman’s victory, she joined State Representative Adam Hattersley’s legislative staff and worked as his district aide in the Florida House, managing the constituent services for the people of Florida’s 59th State House district in eastern Hillsborough County. In the second year of Representative Hattersley’s term, Cassidy was promoted to become his legislative aide in the fall of 2019 and joined the Representative in Tallahassee for the 2020 Legislative Session. Cassidy serves as the Vice President of the Hillsborough County Young Democrats, where she helps to mobilize young people to get involved and get excited about politics and local community activism. She currently lives in Brandon, Florida with her corgi Lucca, and her main issue passions include health care equity, disability and voting rights, women’s reproductive freedom, and equality in the workplace.
