Charles Martinez-Cartagena

Charles moved to Tampa in 2012 to pursue higher education at The University of Tampa (UT). In 2016, he graduated from UT with a Bachelors of Arts in Government and World Affairs with minors in Latin American Studies and Education. Charles began his career path as a Congressional Intern for Congresswoman Kathy Castor’s district office in Tampa, which he served as for a year. After his internship, Charles enrolled at the University of South Florida (USF) where he is currently continuing his education in pursuit of a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). Early in 2018, he was hired to Congresswoman Castor’s staff as Press & Outreach Assistant and to her congressional campaign, Castor for Congress, as Political & Finance Director. Charles was accepted to be a fellow for New Leaders Council’s Tampa Bay chapter as part of the 2019 cohort and was announced to be serving as Co-Deputy Director of the Tampa Bay chapter for 2020. Charles is also an active member of Radiant Church, which has multiple locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, and serves as a volunteer for their children’s ministry – Radiant Kids.
