Charlotte Huskey
Budget Analyst, City of Austin
Charlotte Huskey brings her passion of public service to local government, working in five City of Austin departments over the past ten years, including Austin Energy, Economic Development, Austin Resource Recovery, Transportation, and Finance. Charlotte is currently a Budget Analyst with the City of Austin, where she analyzes, monitors, and develops the City's operating and capital budgets. Charlotte uses her formal education and institutional knowledge of local government to implement policies and programs reflective of the community and city leadership. In her tenure, she has led the development of the City's policy implementation plan of the plastic bag ordinance, which reduced the amount of plastics in the local environment, and has co-led the planning and development of the inaugural Municipal Special Events Summit, which brought together 35+ municipal special event offices from cities across the country. She is skilled in project coordination, public finance, policy implementation, community outreach, and event planning. She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Southwestern University. Charlotte is a curious and thoughtful decision-maker who continuously seeks to be informed by diverse perspectives. Originally from the small town of DeLand, Florida, Charlotte is a proud mixed-race Latina with Mexican American and Southern roots. In her free time, she can be caught traveling, observing art, and dancing salsa & cumbia.
