Communications Co-Chair, NLC Philadelphia

For the past five years, he has taught 12th Grade English and Literature at the Lenfest Campus of the Mastery Charter School Network. In his work, he has been able to elicit his students’ creativity while ensuring their improvement in the skills necessary for post-secondary success.

Furthermore, Chris has established an award-winning tour company, The Philly O.G., where he portrays Young Ben Franklin. His historical tour has gained him recognition from multiple media outlets for its innovation due to the fact that much of Ben Franklin’s story is told through rap. His goal is to make Young Ben Franklin the mascot of new Philadelphia as the city continues to tackle the many challenges within society, specifically the public education system.

Chris is a born and bred Philadelphian. He graduated in 2010 from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in U.S. History and Political Science. He returned home to Philadelphia where he received a Masters degree in Secondary Education from Saint Joseph’s University. His whole mission in life is to prove why Philadelphia is the best city in the world.
