Christina Fermin

Christina Fermin is an Urban Planner, currently working as a Strategic Transportation Planner with Marlin Engineering Inc., where she manages multiple projects related to pedestrian, bicycle, and transit planning. Christina has focused on creating community plans and policies to enhance South Florida’s transportation system by focusing on the principles of Complete Streets. Christina has worked on projects related to Miami-Dade County’s SMART Plan, Complete Streets, Transit, and multimodal accessibility. Before joining Marlin Engineering as a consultant to local government and state agencies, Christina previously worked in municipal government working as a Community Planner for the City of Pembroke Pines and Senior Planner for the City of Coral Springs, where she worked for the city’s Planning Departments, with a focus on sustainability. Christina has also been the President at her community’s Condo Association for the past 3.5 years where she has been tirelessly working with her fellow board members to manage their 216-unit condo association. Christina has implemented maintenance programs, established policies and processes to ensure the smooth operation of the community, managing projects, and ensuring the proper funding of reserves. Christina is a South Florida native, she has lived in various parts of the South Florida region, attended Florida Atlantic University for a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. She is a LeaderShape graduate, and is passionate about bringing positive change to benefit all people. Christina is also passionate about the environment, climate change, politics, the built environment, transportation systems, and people. During her spare time Christina reads, bikes, walks, writes, goes boating, loves camping, traveling, listening to music, and being outdoors. Christina is a devoted friend and family member who is dedicated to positive change, equity, tolerance, personal growth, and peace.
