Certified Training Coordinator, Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center
Cinthia I. Gonzalez is currently the Certified Training Coordinator for the Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center, where she is able to combine her 15+ years of professional business experience in corporate, nonprofit and predominantly Latinx small business communities with her academic background to develop and implement small business training and events in her bordertown community of Laredo, Texas. A native of Monterrey, Mexico, Cinthia has called the South Texas border her home for most of her life. Here, she attended Texas A&M International University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing degree along with a Master in Business Administration degree in Management. While away for a few years to pursue professional opportunities and develop her marketing, public relations and management skills, Cinthia refocused her aim to her hometown. Through several years at the Laredo Chamber of Commerce as their Member Relations Coordinator, she honed her passion: fostering small business through education and increasing access to entrepreneurial resources. In her current position, Cinthia is able to do just this, and even more so now, as she has pivoted her center’s way of educating into the virtual realm, expanding the center’s reach even further. Cinthia is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Ireland and Spain. She loves baking, enjoys reading true crime-genre books, and cannot wait to get back to traveling and exploring new restaurants in far off places.
