Courtney Samuels has lived in Vermont for 33 years. She is a first generation Jamaican American and grew up in Barnet Vermont with her parents and four brothers. She graduated from Lyndon State College with a degree in Physical Education in 2010 and worked in that field in the Northeast Kingdom till 2012. In that time she realized that a move was needed for her to grow and she relocated to Burlington. Burlington is where she realized what her passion was and transitioned into the Hospitality field. All of the positions she has held since moving to Burlington she has shown leadership skills and the willingness to learn and grow. She decided to apply to NLC for the opportunity to hone her skills and learn even more.
Courtney enjoys spending time with her 11 year old dog Sierra, gardening, listening to live music (unfortunately not in 2020) and doing crafts. She has always wanted to give back to her community in some way, but hasn't taken those steps until now. Courtney is at the point in her life where she wants to make a difference in the community. A big part of her life is spending time with the people she loves and that love her. Today she is working at Citizen Cider in the Cider Pub. She started at Citizen in 2017 as a server and eventually became a bartender as well. She still holds those titles as well as Merchandise Manager.
