Communications Manager, Generation Hope
Devon Haynes specializes in strategic communications and media relations, by using storytelling, media, and digital campaigns to advance Generation Hope’s mission of supporting the educational success and economic mobility of two generations: teen parents and their little ones. Devon has previously worked for the PR firms Whiteboard Advisors and Spitfire Strategies. She graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA with a B.A. in Political Studies and Environmental Studies. Devon is committed to ending white supremacist patriarchy and is the founder and co-editor of Women’s Wire, a weekly feminist newsletter featuring news, jobs, and opportunities for activism, which she started writing in July 2016. A Washington, D.C. native, Devon is passionate about making life better for D.C.-area families, and outside of work hours you can find her advocating on issues of maternal health and early childhood education. She also cares about the transparency and accountability of local elected leadership. Outside of work or advocacy, she enjoys running around the city with the District Running Collective, or (during non-pandemic times) checking out the vibrant local food scene.
