Ebony Walls is a certified Nonprofit Leader (CNP), Sports Philanthropist, International Social Worker, drum major for service, bilingual aficionado and educator. Ms. Walls currently serves as the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager for the PGA TOUR’s Rocket Mortgage Classic which raised over $2.7 Million in 2020 to end the digital divide in Detroit and developed the Connect 313 Fund. Inspiring others to achieve beyond mediocrity is Ebony’s personal mission and she fulfills this daily through the vehicles of sports, civic engagement, education and mentorship. As a professional fundraiser Ebony serves as the TedxDetroit Chapter’s Director of Sponsorship, Eastern Michigan University’s Alumni Board of Director and the W.I.S.E. Detroit (Women In Sports & Entertainment) Executive Leader. She has a niche for connecting funders to the purposeful mission of nonprofits. Ebony is a first generation college graduate who has traveled the world sharing her from ”trial to triumph” journey as a college student who once faced academic dismissal transformed to a rising scholar. As a TruEMU Alum, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) earning University Honors; Masters in Public Administration (MPA)- Nonprofit Management from Eastern Michigan University. Ms. Walls is currently attending George Washington University obtaining a graduate executive certificate in Sports Philanthropy. As an International Social Worker, she has traveled the globe to places such as Jamaica, Morocco, Canada and South Africa serving as a Scholar, Program Coordinator and Community Organizer; tackling issues such as teen pregnancy, child abuse, youth development and transnational feminism. Ebony’s service and research on her personal platform titled “Mentoring- The Impact It Has on Youth” has opened great opportunities to meet such powerful influences such as President Barack Obama. It is Ebony’s mission to continue traveling the globe to share her riches with youth, while revealing to them their own.
