Geronimo Lopez, a Venezuelan with over 28 years of experience in the Culinary Arts, has had the privilege to work in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. Classically trained in France for several years, Lopez worked in several Michelin ranked restaurants and luxury hotels. In 2012, Geronimo came to San Antonio as the opening Executive Chef/Instructor at the Culinary Institute of America student-run restaurant. In July of 2016, Lopez debuted his first personal professional project, BOTIKA, a Chifa-Nikkei lounge located at the Pearl. BOTIKA explores the crossroad between South Asia and South America, which has been Chef Lopez passion throughout his career. Besides his work at BOTIKA, Chef spends his time supporting different food related initiatives in the San Antonio community.
