Legislative Aide, Massachusetts House of Representatives
Gloribel Rivas is a Legislative Aide with the Office of State Representative Adrian Madaro, where she provides constituent services to the people of East Boston, MA. She serves as a liaison between residents and various state agencies, represents the office at community meetings, and assists with legislative efforts and communications. She was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the United States, where she grew up in East Boston. She is a proud graduate of the Boston Public Schools and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She learned about the importance of building community from neighbors fighting for stronger protections for undocumented families, workers, and tenants. Her interest in housing justice drove her to intern at City Life/Vida Urbana in East Boston in high school and college, where she learned what it looks like to follow the lead of those who are the most impacted by injustice. She previously worked as a paralegal at an immigration law office and volunteered on local political campaigns. She currently serves on the board of Maverick Landing Community Services, a multi-service non-profit dedicated to supporting residents of Maverick Landing, East Boston, and surrounding communities. In her free time, you can find her taking nature walks, spending time with family, reading, or volunteering.
