Jack McGovern is a Bay Area native – born and raised in San Francisco. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross while playing Division I lacrosse for four years. Jack returned to the Bay Area to pursue a career in government, politics, and public service. After a brief stint as a Marketing and Sales Associate at Karp Capital Management Corporation, he was hired as the Campaign Coordinator for the Josh Becker for State Senate Campaign. Doing campaign work was key in gaining valuable skills including fundraising, event planning, political organizing, and GOTV techniques. Josh was successful in his run and will be the next state senator for CA Senate District 13. Today Jack is a policy aide for Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President, Cindy Chavez. He is responsible for a number of policy areas, which include the County’s COVID-19 response, drug abuse and teen vaping, and gun violence, and Jack is committed to improving the lives of Santa Clara County and Bay Area residents, especially those who need the most assistance. With mentorship from his current and prior employers, support from his experienced political consultant father, and his background in competition and athletics, Jack is excited and determined to work hard for all those who live and work in Santa Clara County and the Bay Area.
