Director of Programs, Lucy's Love Bus
Jackie Walker was born and raised in Baltimore, and moved to New England in 2009 to attend Northeastern University, where she graduated with a dual bachelor’s in international affairs and anthropology with minors in Spanish and political science. After graduating in 2013, Jackie began working at Lucy's Love Bus, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that provides comfort and quality of life to children with cancer and their families through free individual and group integrative therapies such as massage, acupuncture, yoga, therapeutic horseback riding, and more. Hired as the second employee, Jackie has helped connect over one thousand children with cancer in New England and beyond to complementary therapies that help them feel good when they need it most. She was chosen as a 2018 Boston Cannons Champion of Cancer and is a Life is Good© Playmaker. Jackie moved to New Hampshire in 2016 and now lives in a tiny house with her husband, Wes, and their rescue mutts, Barley and Moose. Jackie enjoys being a Big Sister, through Big Brothers Big Sisters NH, hiking in the White Mountains, and traveling on her quest to visit the 421 units of the National Park Service, with her favorites so far being Big Bend National Park in Texas and Castillo San Felipe del Morro National Historic Site in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
