Jai Singletary is a native Washingtonian and currently resides in Detroit, MI. He serves as the Community and Resident Services Manager in the Office of Detroit City Council Member Raquel Castañeda‐López. While in his role, Jai has focused on civic engagement with residents around the Census and the 2020 election. Before joining the Council Member’s office, Jai received his Master of Public Policy degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He has also held internships at the United States Department of Labor, the United States House of Representatives, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as a Research Fellow. As Jai continues to progress in his career, he hopes to be more involved in grassroots organizing involving voting rights and expanding voting accessibility.
