Economic Development Program Manager, Mount Washington Community Development Corporation
Jamie Piotrowski (she/her/hers), a Pittsburgh Hilltop Native, is the Economic Development Program Manager at the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation where she creates and manages fair and affordable housing programs for the neighborhoods of Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights. She also assists the Development Committee on the organization’s Board of Directors and participates in the Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group’s Vacant Property Working Group. After graduating from Waynesburg University in 2014 Jamie served as a Refugee Resettlement Caseworker for Catholic Charities. After a short stint at the Ward Home she returned to refugee resettlement services at AJAPO. Her work in the nonprofit sector inspired her to pursue higher education. In 2019 Jamie completed a dual-Master’s program at the University of Pittsburgh earning a Master of International Development and Master of Social Work; she is also a Licensed Social Worker by the State of Pennsylvania. While earning her degrees Jamie held internships in local government and community development under former Councilwoman Rudiak, Economic Development South, and Hello Neighbor. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Havana, Cuba to study US-Cuba relations and Cuban culture, as well as in Kathmandu, Nepal to study Nepal-Bhutan relations and meet with refugee leaders in the Nepali/Bhutanese refugee crisis. Jamie lives in the Southside Slopes with her partner Geoffrey, their dogs, Winnifred and Gracie, and their bird, Louise. They are currently in the midst of rehabilitating Jamie’s childhood home in Carrick and will be moving in next year. In her spare time Jamie enjoys running, sewing and crafting, and creating the perfect getaway island in Animal Crossing.
