Jessica Giles is the Deputy Director of Education Reform Now DC and its affiliate Democrats for Education Reform DC. Through these roles, she advocates for equitable access to educational excellence for every student regardless of their race, background, or neighborhood. Previously, Jessica served as Deputy Committee Director for the Council of the District of Columbia’s Committee on Education. Having served on the Committee for four years, Jessica helped advance equity in public education and provide strong oversight of the childcare industry in Washington, DC. During this time, she also managed Councilmember David Grosso’s Human Services Committee portfolio. Jessica began her career as a childcare provider in South Carolina. In 2012, she accepted a fellowship in the Office of U.S. Congressman James E. Clyburn (D-SC-6) and then leveraged her experience on Capitol Hill to work at Peck Madigan Jones. She received a B.A. in History from Furman University in 2009 and M.P.P. from American University in 2013. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys traveling, reading, mentoring, and blogging.
