Attorney, North Carolina Air National Guard
Jimmie Bellamy is an Air Force veteran, attorney, and real estate entrepreneur with a passion for public service. Born and raised in eastern North Carolina to a brick mason and public school teacher, his parents taught him the value of hard work, discipline, and the importance of lifelong learning. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jimmie spent time working at the nation’s Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. It was this experience that helped shape his belief in the importance of service and citizenship as a core value. Inspired to pursue public service, Jimmie obtained his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and commissioned into the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer where he provided legal assistance to military members, their families, and veterans. He spent a considerable part of his legal practice as a principal legal advisor to military leaders and litigating matters on behalf of the United States as a federal prosecutor, as well as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, and traveling the country representing military members in court as a defense attorney. Jimmie now serves as a JAG Officer in the North Carolina Air National Guard. In addition to his military career, Jimmie is the owner of a real estate investment company seeking to build and maintain an investment portfolio including socially responsible rental properties in neighborhoods most vulnerable to gentrification and the eventual displacement of the community. Jimmie’s roots in eastern North Carolina inform his investment strategies and focus on providing affordable, safe, and clean housing for individuals and families across the income spectrum. Besides his passion for public service and real estate, Jimmie is also an aspiring pitmaster and enjoys jazz, golfing, and political history. Jimmie is happily married and a proud dad of two beautiful little girls. He is based in Knightdale, North Carolina.
