Communications Manager, FWD.us
Karely Hernandez is a Communications Manager at FWD.us where she leads national and regional bilingual communications strategies for immigration policies and advocacy campaigns. In her role, Karely also directs a program of over 800 immigration impacted storytellers, immigration allies and stakeholders focusing on empowerment, education and media preparedness for effective narrative building. Before joining FWD.us, Karely was the Communications Manager for The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights leading on education equity, immigration, the 2020 census, amongst diverse civil rights communications strategies. Having developed her expertise in political communications and Spanish language media as Senator Harry Reid’s Hispanic Media Press Secretary, Karely continued to shape narratives for the Hillary for America campaign on the Coalitions communications team as a national Spanish language media associate. Further into the 2016 presidential campaign, Karely became the Spanish language media spokesperson for the coordinated campaign in North Carolina. Karely was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Global and International Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chican@ Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
