Kate Spring is an organic farmer, writer, and consultant in Central Vermont. Kate’s work is rooted in sustainability, community, and creativity. In 2013 she co-founded Good Heart Farmstead, L3C, an organic farm with a mission to make local food accessible to low-income Vermonters and to strengthen the relationships between people, food, and land. Since then, Good Heart has worked with the local food shelf and NOFA-VT Farm Share Program to increase food access to individuals and families in need. In 2019, she founded Kate Spring Creative LLC, where she offers marketing and copywriting services to help farmers grow thriving businesses. Kate believes that creativity is as essential as food, and as a writer and consultant she works to highlight the connection between creative nourishment and sustainable business. Along with consulting, Kate also teaches online writing workshops geared toward farmers and gardeners. A lifelong learner, Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University, and is constantly inspired by both books and soil. Along with reading, writing, and growing vegetables, Kate loves swimming, hiking, and exploring the natural world with her husband, son, and dogs.
