Public Relations Information Officer, Orange County Government
Kristina Kus is the Public Relations Information Officer with the Orange County Government. She is an integral part of the Utilities Communications Group where she helps produce and deliver both internal and external communication pieces. She prides herself on using the proper voice and channel for every audience. Her favorite external projects focus on conservation, recycling, and sustainability messaging. She also enjoys promoting wellness and prioritizing mental health within the department. Kristina is a champion of local journalism and her previous work experience includes product marketing for Tribune Publishing. Additionally, she worked in development and public relations for a health nonprofit. Kristina's many policy interests include racial equity, criminal justice reform, reproductive rights, access to healthy foods and safe recreation spaces, mental healthcare, and sustainability. Kristina is an avid Orlando City Soccer Club supporter and enjoys festivals and live music with friends. A past bookseller, she loves to read. Podcasts keep her moving on her commute. Kristina stays active with exercise and dance and enjoys prepping delicious and nutritious meals. Twice a Knight, Kristina received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Master of Public Administration degrees from the University of Central Florida. She credits her educational background for her love of making progressive public policy accessible to all audiences.
