Lauren Rosenzweig
Certified Peer Specialist, Seacoast Mental Health Center
Lauren Rosenzweig currently holds the position as the Certified Peer Specialist on the Assertive Community Treatment team for Seacoast Mental Health Center in Portsmouth, NH. She works in the community supporting individuals with their mental health recovery through a non-medical model called, Intentional Peer Support, which offers support through lived experience, trust, and mutuality. Lauren began her career in Intentional Peer Support in 2012 when she began working at one of the peer support agencies in New Hampshire. There, she met individuals with similar stories to her own and recognized the value of shared lived experience. She went on to Seacoast Mental Health Center where she came the first employed peer specialist at the agency. Over the last six years she has aided in integrating peer support into a clinical setting and she has offered guidance to individuals looking to join the peer field. Lauren continues to fiercely advocate for mental health reform in the state, starting with integrating more peer roles into the ten community mental health centers in New Hampshire. She is vocal about the importance of Intentional Peer Support and offering consumers the opportunity to manage their own experiences without judgement, incursion, or unsolicited advice. Lauren is currently pursuing her Certified Recovery Support Worker certification, the substance use peer support certificate, to broaden the population she can help. She also serves on the Board of Directors as the External Affairs Committee Chair for Connections Peer Support Center. Lauren Rosenzweig originates from the Catskill Mountains Region of New York and moved to New Hampshire with her family in 2000. During her time at Keene State College she advocated with the LGBTQ alliance and held the Vice President position until her semester broad in England. Lauren graduated with a dual major in Sociology and English and as a member of the English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, and a member of the International Sociology Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta. Lauren values enhancing her spirituality through meditation and Reiki and thoroughly enjoys historical fiction novels and keeping updated with politics. Lauren appreciates nature and animals and resides on the Seacoast of New Hampshire with her long-term partner and two cats, Loki and Luna.
