Program Coordinator, Young Voices RI
Marleni Suazo is a proud 2019 Rhode Island College graduate, being the first in her family to graduate with a BA in Youth Development. Presently, she is a Program Coordinator at Young Voices RI providing youth advanced training in leadership, public speaking and policy change. She started her journey at Young Voices in 2018 as the first ever ELL leadership staff to empower ELL youth to become powerful advocates and leaders within Alvarez High School in Providence, RI. Marleni previously served at the YWCA as a Counselor for middle school girls. Her role was to develop a curriculum that centered social emotional learning and a strong sense of identity for young girls. Marleni is also deeply involved in the faith community at Iglesia de Dios Renovada in Cranston, RI, where she now serves as a Youth Director alongside her husband Carlos. In Spite of COVID-19, Marleni was moved to open up a faith focused blog on Instagram called “Palabra de Vida RI” where she shares words of encouragement to people of all walks of life. Marleni during her free time loves to host family and friends over for some delicious Dominican food. She rises early in the morning to workout in order to relieve some stress from her daily busy life.
