Nathan Burkhart

Nathan Burkhart is the Director of Marketing and Small Business Development at the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation, the Type B Economic Development Organization for the City of Brownsville. He strategically develops programs and incentives for startup growth and development in Brownsville with the end goal of creating a sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship in the Rio Grande Valley. Nathan is a graduate of UT Austin Red McCombs School of Business where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a minor in Government. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Nathan has previously worked in the Texas House of Representatives, where he served as Digital Director for the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, and for State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer, representing San Antonio. Nathan also briefly worked in the photovoltaics industry in Austin. Nathan volunteers as a board member for the Community Development Corporation of Brownsville (Come Dream. Come Build). On his days off you can find him biking, home brewing, camping, or thinking of new ways to invest in the human capital of his community.
