Rémy was a 2020 New Leaders Council Fellow and is the Communications Manager at New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute (NOCHI), where she was part of the opening team and has worked to build the school’s brand as a leader, resource, and advocate for the hospitality industry. Rémy’s first career was as a cookbook writer, and she spent 6 years collaborating with journalists and chefs including Mark Bittman, Alon Shaya, and Cortney Burns. In 2018, Rémy co-founded the New Orleans chapter of Sister District, a nationwide grassroots organization that leverages volunteer energy to elect progressive candidates to state legislatures. Under her leadership, Sister District NOLA grew a base of over 200 regular volunteers in its first year through postcarding, text-banking, canvassing, and fundraising events for candidates including Tammy Savoie and Shanda Yates. Rémy also spearheaded 8 Days of Early Voting, a citywide GOTV initiative, in partnership with Indivisible NOLA, Citizen SHE, Action NOLA, MoVE Initiative, Power Coalition, and more than one dozen local businesses.
