Communications Associate, Make the Road New Jersey
Ruth Delgado is the Communications Associate with Make the Road New Jersey, a nonprofit organization that builds the power of immigrant and working-class communities to achieve dignity and respect. Through this role, she coordinates with press inquiries, manages the social media channels, and creates bilingual informational materials for the membership and the Latinx community. In addition to this, Ruth also supports the Organizing team by creating new digital strategies to engage with new audiences and share current campaigns. Before joining the Make the Road New Jersey team, Ruth was an active member of the organization. Prior to this role, Ruth served as the Volunteer Coordinator at Montclair State University through the EECO AmeriCorps program. As the Volunteer Coordinator, she worked with various nonprofit organizations in the northern Jersey region to create volunteer opportunities for the Montclair State University community. As part of creating recurring volunteer opportunities, she worked with student organizations and campus departments and offices to establish Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week as a campus-wide service week. Ruth is a proud daughter of immigrants. As a first-generation college graduate, she received her degree in Mathematics from the Catholic University of America. She currently lives in Passaic, where she enjoys spending her time with her family and creating new digital art designs.
