She also provides helpful and impactful constituent services by responding to questions from residents and working with residents to develop plans for change in their communities. Prior to working for Councilmember Jones, Summer worked as an estate planning and administration paralegal and in the Virginia House of Delegate’s Clerk’s Office. Summer has a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is currently in the Master of Public Administration program at the Wilder School at VCU. She is interested in how people interact with the built environment and their communities, and how public policy has shaped the environments we live in. Her career and academics are focused on gaining more understanding of the historical context of policy issues and using public policy to address systemic inequities. In her free time, Summer enjoys browsing vintage furniture stores, hiking in the many National and State Parks in Virginia, and exploring Richmond on her bike.
