Tara West, born and raised in Oxford, Maine and now currently living in Danville, New Hampshire, serves as the President/CEO for her recently launched nonprofit, Community Supporting Community (CSC). CSC is geared towards pairing community integration and therapeutic counseling to improve a person’s overall well-being. In this role, Tara is hoping to shift mental health treatment through the blending of two key components- volunteering and therapy. She also intends to normalize the experience for people consuming mental health services while also breaking down societal stigmas through education and advocacy. This is a nonprofit that Tara has passionately been building from the ground up with the wonderful support of her Board. Tara is one of only six therapists in New Hampshire certified in Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is independently licensed as a social worker (LICSW) in both NH and MA. She is proficient with American Sign Language and is always trying to improve her knowledge of the culture and language. Tara currently holds a BA in Psychology through Western New England University and a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree through Smith College School for Social Work. When Tara is not working, you can often find her spending time outside- snowboarding, hiking or going on adventures with her husband, their two toddlers and their two dogs.
