Zachary Woods
Director of Nursing, Pruitt Health
Zachary D. Woods is the Director of Health Services/Director of Nursing at Pruitt Health Tallahassee Southwood location. He is a native of Quincy, Florida and a 2005 graduate of East Gadsden High School. After high school, he graduated from the Police Academy at the age of 18. He remained in the Policing profession for several years, serving in many areas to include: patrol, investigations, Traffic/DUI and Traffic Homicide. With a strong zeal for compassion and the provision of quality care, Zachary transitioned to a career in Nursing. He subsequently became a Registered Nurse through earning a Bachelor’s degree from Abraham Baldwin College and a Master’s Degree in Nursing with emphasis in Leadership and Health Care Systems from Grand Canyon University. In addition, Zachary also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Columbia Southern University. Zachary is a former elected City Councilman for the City of Midway (2013-2017). He is deeply involved in local progressive change and often engages with community anti-violence and youth mentorship programs that focus on enhancing personal development, college readiness, employ-ability skills and self-esteem. In the Spring of 2020, Zachary was fortunate to join thousands of other Nurses in New York City in the fight against COVID19. An Emergency Room Nurse by specialty, Zachary gained a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experiences, which led him to be featured on several local televised News Stations, newspapers and radio broadcasts. Most recently, Zachary served as the Campaign Manager for the successful Elijah Key Campaign for Superintendent of Gadsden County Schools. In addition, Zachary volunteered on the Biden/Harris Presidential campaign and was selected to be one of the featured speakers at a Live Press Conference alongside local Legislators, business owners and community members. He has also served on numerous campaign strategy teams on the local and state levels. Zachary continues to volunteer with the Habitat for Humanity and advocate for the greater good of the youth. Zachary is passionate about positive social change, diversity, equality, social justice and the progression of underserved populations in healthcare and disease prevention. Zachary is committed to change, progress, and the development of a sustainable social landscape. His sincerest ambition is to ensure that the lessons learned from historical maladies lend themselves to continuous improvement.
